Wood Duck

Aix sponsa

The male duck (drake) is very colourful, has red eyes, a tuft and a dark brown chest. They differ clearly from the rather monotonous, grey-brown female. In nuptial plumage, the drake is just as colourful as that of the mandarin duck.
