Guided tours and adventure program at the Stadt Haag zoo

Four themed guided tours and one adventure program can be booked online here. You can learn a lot of interesting facts about the featured animal species through our trained educators and rangers.

A maximum of 25 people can participate in a themed tour and a maximum of 5 people in the activity program. Please note: The package price for the activity program or the guided tour does not include admission!

Meerkat adventure program

Due to the great demand all of the meerkat adventure programs are fully booked for 2026.

Meerkat Experience Program (March 1 to September 30)

Experience meerkats up close!

You get insight into the lives of these desert dwellers and learn fascinating facts about their behavior.

– Includes entry to the meerkat enclosure

– Minimum age: 6 years

– At least one adult must accompany you

 Bookings are available at the following fixed times:

o Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM or 3:30 PM

o Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, 10:00 AM only

Cost € 120 for a group of up to 5 people, plus zoo admission.

Bactrian Camel – Zebra – Tarpan – Bennett’s Wallaby – Ibex – Brown Bear

In this exciting themed tour, we’ll discover astonishing adaptations and surprising characteristics from the animal world. Learn how the Bactrian camel masters extreme desert conditions, why zebras and tarpans are perfect prey animals, what makes marsupials so unique, how the ibex climbs steep cliffs seemingly effortlessly, and why the brown bear employs a very special strategy for reproduction.

What Do Animals Eat? - A Journey of Discovery Through the Dietary Strategies of the Animal Kingdom

Bison – Leopard – Meerkat – Eagle Owl – Flamingo

Dive into the diverse diets of our animal inhabitants: from precision-hunting carnivores to nibbling herbivores and tireless ruminants, to adaptable omnivores and extraordinary specialists like flamingos. Discover how teeth, beaks, digestive systems, and behaviors are perfectly adapted to their respective diets and what amazing tricks nature has developed to achieve this.

Native Wildlife – Our Secret Neighbors

Wolf – Tawny Owl – Chamois – Ibex – Brown Bear – Red Deer

A wolf roams the forest with its pack, the silent tawny owl remains mostly unseen, while high in the mountains, chamois and ibex climb seemingly effortlessly over rocks. And those who look closely might discover the tracks of the brown bear and hear the impressive bellowing of the red deer. Learn fascinating facts about habitats, special adaptations, hunting strategies, and the often challenging coexistence of humans and wildlife in Austria.
