Way of life: sociable in small and bigger herds, gregarious animal

The four-horn or Jacob sheep is an very old breed, probably from the Holy Land and already mentioned in the Bible. Later, the Jacob sheep came to Spain and England via North Africa with Arab conquerors.
The extremely robust and undemanding four-horn sheep is mainly kept for landscape conservation and wool production.
In contrast to other sheep species, the female animals also carry horns.
