Cameroon sheep

The Cameroon sheep originates from West Africa and is descended from the West African Dwarf sheep found throughout the region. As a hair sheep, it does not not grow typical sheep’s wool, but rather a short coat with a dense undercoat that is shed in the spring, making shearing unnecessary. Cameroon sheep are small, robust and undemanding. Rams have curved, sickle-shaped horns and a distinctive mane around the neck and chest, while ewes are hornless. Their typical coat is brown with black markings on the belly, head and legs. They can breed throughout the year, regardless of season. Thanks to their hardiness and ability to thrive on sparse vegetation, Cameroon sheep are now found in many parts of the world, particularly in conservation grazing and hobby farming.
