The two-humped camel is also known as the Bactrian camel. They are recogniced at their 2 humps. The difference: camels with one hump are called dromedaries.
The two-humped camel served humans in large parts of Asia as a beast of burden and livestock, probably already around 2500 years before Christ.
Camels can drink an amount of water equivalent to a third of its body weight at once. Camels can survive in the scorching desert heat 10 times longer than humans and 4 times longer than a donkey without drinking.
