Sibirian Tiger

Panthera tigris altaica

As the world’s largest wild cat, the Siberian tiger is perfectly adapted to extreme cold. A dense undercoat and a layer of fat up to five centimeters thick provide insulation even at temperatures dropping below -30 °C. Its large paws function like natural snowshoes, helping it move through deep snow. This solitary animal requires vast, continuous forest territories. Its striped coat blends light and shadow among the trees and tall grass, making it virtually invisible. When hunting wild boar or deer, it often covers more than 20 kilometers; in prey-scarce regions, its roaming ranges can even exceed 100 kilometers.
