Jacob sheep

The Jacob sheep owes its name to the biblical story of the patriarch Jacob, who is said to have bred flocks of spotted sheep. This rare and robust breed is particularly striking due to its unusual horns: both rams and ewes usually have four horns, and occasionally even six.

No two Jacob sheep look exactly alike. The shape and position of their horns and their distinctive black-and-white spotted coats make each animal unique. Because of their ancient and unusual appearance, these resilient animals were once often kept as ornamental sheep in the parks and estates of the English aristocracy.

The Jacob sheep is an old and rare heritage breed considered worthy of conservation.
